Zanessa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, dual licensed in both Texas and New Mexico. She received her Bachelor of Social Work from Lubbock Christian University in 2011 and her Master of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University in 2016. LoveFire Counseling was established in 2018 in effort to provide support to couples on the brink of divorce and has now expanded to a private practice providing counseling services to all ages. Zanessa is a NM Supervisor and has a consulting network partnering with numerous private practice clinicians throughout West Texas and Eastern New Mexico.
Couples: Zanessa provides Couples Therapy, Pre-marital Counseling, Marriage Counseling, Marriage Restoration, and Relationship Intervention. She trained under marriage restoration counselors in Lubbock, Amarillo, and Albuquerque to create the LoveFire Marriage Restoration curriculum for couples on the brink of divorce. Zanessa designed a 6 week Intensive Program with accompanying resources, video sessions, private FB support group, and telehealth counseling for couples. She has been on radio broadcasts and live Q&A’s covering relationship topics. She served as the Family Advocacy Treatment Manager at the Cannon Air Force Base counseling couples, individuals, and children of military families undergoing situational trauma and stress. She works with couples struggling with issues of infidelity, addiction, financial stress, family issues, parenting issues, domestic and/or family violence, emotional abuse, and various personality disorder related problems.
Individuals: Zanessa has worked with hundreds of clients since 2016 and has partnered with several local agencies including Denovo Therapy, Rise Counseling, Family Counseling Services, and The Nest to provide adult clients with restoration and healing. Zanessa utilizes EMDR, TF-CBT, Innovative Expressive Arts Therapies, Solution-Focused, Positive Psychology, Sand tray, other relational intervention modalities to promote change and growth with clientele. Zanessa specializes in Depression and Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Trauma, Sexual Abuse, Partner Betrayal, Domestic, and Family Violence, Anger, Grief and Loss, Chronic Pain, Relationship Issues, Parent-Child Conflict, Job Dissatisfaction, and Career Counseling. Zanessa works with all genders, races, religions, and sexual orientations from a faith-based Christian approach. Zanessa currently supervises and trains other upcoming clinicians to work with individuals.
Children & Youth: Zanessa has worked with Los Pasitos Early Intervention, the Texas Boys Ranch, CASA, and the Chaves County Child Advocacy Center, as well as numerous parents, adoptive parents, and foster parents to provide services to children for emotional, sexual, and physical abuse or neglect. Her clients range from ages 4 to 17 who have diagnosis of Reactive Attachment Disorder, Adjustment Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Autism, Development Delay, and Behavioral Problems. Zanessa utilizes Music, Expressive Arts, Play, and Sand Tray therapies to connect with and establish trust with this age group in order to provide support, intervention, and prevention techniques. For youth, Zanessa often incorporates EMDR, CBT, and DBT modalities for healing. Zanessa is trained in forensic interview, sex trafficking, and sexual exploitation intervention, as well. Currently, Zanessa is training LMSW interns who specialize in working with children and teens.
